Biography

Cidjy Pierre is a French photojournalist and documentary photographer covering conflict, humanitarian crises and women’s rights.

Her work documents the human realities of conflict, displacement, and political repression. Through extended field immersion, she captures intimate stories of resilience and survival, with a central emphasis on women.

Afghanistan is a major focus of her recent work. Following the Taliban takeover of Kabul in 2021, she documented the arrival and lives of Afghan refugees in France for La Croix. She later began working independently inside Afghanistan, where she has documented the lives of women under Taliban rule and the country’s ongoing humanitarian crisis.

Her photographs have appeared in Le Monde, Mediapart, L’Humanité, and others, and have been distributed internationally by Agence France-Presse (AFP), Reuters, and Getty Images. She was previously represented by the agency Hans Lucas.

She holds a Master’s degree in International Journalism and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science.
